Note: This Refund and Cancellation Policy is governed by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, as applicable in India.
1. Overview
This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which MotherShepherd Private Limited ("we," "us," "our") provides refunds and handles cancellations for subscriptions to Maanchitra ("the Service").
2. Subscription Plans
We offer the following subscription plans:
- Monthly Subscription: Automatically renews every month
- Quarterly Subscription: Automatically renews every three months
- Annual Subscription: Automatically renews every year
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1 Cancellation by User
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your profile page or by contacting our support team
- Upon cancellation, you will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be provided for the remaining period of your current subscription
- Auto-renewal will be disabled, and you will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
3.2 Cancellation by MotherShepherd Private Limited
We reserve the right to cancel or suspend your subscription if:
- You violate our Terms and Conditions
- You engage in fraudulent activities or payment disputes
- We discontinue the Service (with 30 days prior notice)
In case of service discontinuation, you will receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your subscription.
4. Refund Policy
4.1 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers:
- If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial purchase
- This applies only to your first subscription purchase
- To claim a refund, contact us at support@maanchitra.in
- Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days to your original payment method
4.2 Renewal Subscriptions
For renewal subscriptions (after your initial subscription period):
- No refunds are provided once a renewal payment has been processed
- You must cancel your subscription before the renewal date to avoid being charged
- We send email reminders 7 days before renewal to allow you to cancel if desired
4.3 Technical Issues
If you experience technical issues that prevent you from accessing the Service:
- Contact our support team immediately at support@maanchitra.in
- We will work to resolve the issue within 48 hours
- If the issue cannot be resolved and prevents access for more than 7 consecutive days, you may be eligible for a pro-rata refund
4.4 Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will NOT be provided in the following cases:
- Change of mind after the 7-day money-back guarantee period
- Failure to use the Service or access premium features
- Violation of our Terms and Conditions resulting in account suspension
- Technical issues on your end (incompatible device, internet connectivity, etc.)
- Partial month refunds (except in cases of service discontinuation by us)
5. Refund Process
5.1 How to Request a Refund
- Send an email to support@maanchitra.in with the subject "Refund Request"
- Include your account email, subscription details, and reason for refund
- Our team will review your request within 2-3 business days
- If approved, refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days
5.2 Refund Method
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method (UPI, credit card, debit card, net banking, wallet)
- Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 5-7 business days for the refund to reflect in your account
6. Payment Gateway Charges
Please note that payment gateway charges (if any) are non-refundable. In case of a refund, the actual amount charged minus payment gateway fees will be refunded.
7. Proration Policy
In case of service-related issues or discontinuation by us:
- Refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis
- Formula: (Subscription Amount / Total Days in Subscription Period) × Remaining Days
- Minimum refund amount: ₹10 (refunds below this amount will not be processed)
8. Auto-Renewal Notifications
We will send you email notifications:
- 7 days before your subscription renewal date
- 24 hours before your subscription renewal date
- Upon successful renewal
It is your responsibility to check your email and cancel before renewal if you do not wish to continue.
9. Dispute Resolution
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019:
- Any disputes regarding refunds or cancellations will be handled through our customer support first
- If unresolved, you may approach the Consumer Forum in your jurisdiction
- All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India
10. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
11. Governing Law
This Refund and Cancellation Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including but not limited to:
- The Consumer Protection Act, 2019
- The Information Technology Act, 2000
- The Indian Contract Act, 1872
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Guidelines on Payment and Settlement Systems
